Gallery "Novoriznica Beograd" is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition "Mama, ja sam u Beogradu!", a personal project by Alexander Vinogradov. The exhibition will run from November 30, 2024 to January 10, 2025. The artist will present his sculptures and paintings.

Alexander Vinogradov's exhibition Project 360° offers a reflection on the technologies that determine and transform our perception of reality. The project, previously presented in Berlin and Riga, comes to Belgrade, where viewers will see familiar streets through the artist's optics, based on virtual walks around the city with many names. Vinogradov searches for emotions behind the digital code, creating a sense of a parallel world, free from physical limitations and omnipresent as the network itself.

"Mechanical fixation of reality at 360 degrees is a new description of the world. A strange world where we walk without leaving home," says Vinogradov. The paintings based on Google panoramas depict real scenes, but they open up a zone of alienation, where the fixation itself becomes meaning. Vinogradov endows this fixation with its own sensations and colors, turning static panoramas into paintings filled with empathy. The artist immerses himself in a stream of impersonal digital information, but rethinks it as an artistic territory saturated with feelings.

To paraphrase Susan Sontag a little, one could argue that photography makes reality banal, but behind this external calm lies the entire tragedy of time. Vinogradov finds this tragedy in virtual views - faces erased and blurred, scenes recorded by a machine, where everything familiar and understandable acquires detachment and coldness. The artist returns to the viewer what technology tries to hide - the emotional depth and experience of a place that seems to have disappeared into a digital archive.

"I place the artist in the center of the digital space," says Vinogradov, emphasizing that his work is not just a detached copying of virtual landscapes. He works with digital material as with a palette, introducing his feelings and experiences into it, turning indifferent pixels into picturesque images. Alexander Vinogradov's exhibition is not just an observation of the world recorded from the point of view of technology, but also an attempt to remind us that behind every "snapshot", behind all the "data", there is a person with his experiences, memories and emotions. This is a look that breaks through the digital curtain and calls to peer into the hidden layers of reality, invisible to machines, but clear to the feeling heart.
