Alexander Vinogradov is one of the most prominent and significant representatives of contemporary Russian art. He was born in 1963 in Moscow and studied at the Surikov Moscow State Art Institute. Vinogradov became famous in collaboration with Vladimir Dubossarsky, with whom he formed one of the most influential artistic duos of the post-Soviet era. The artists' works became symbols of the transitional era in Russia, touching on the themes of social and cultural transformations.
After completing their joint work in 2015, Vinogradov continued his solo career. His works often explore issues of identity, perception of reality, and the relationship between man and technology. Vinogradov actively works with digital means, skillfully combining traditional painting with new digital tools. The artist's works as part of a duet with Dubossarsky are in the collections of leading museums and galleries around the world, and also participated in the Venice Biennale and exhibitions in such famous places as the Georges Pompidou Center and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
